Description

The SELA Ottoman pays tribute to the beauty of Nature's creations, its mineral appearance perfected through time and erosion. The fabric's textures and patterns suggest a mesmerizing vegetal invasion that emerges like a beautiful memory from the past.

Bina Baitel

Bina Baitel, DPLG Architect, graduated from the National Superior School of Architecture of Paris La Villette and founded her eponymously named design and architecture studio in Paris in 2006. Of Franco-Swedish origin, the designer grew up in the Middle East, nurtured by multiple influences, she explores the question of cultural interpenetration on formal, functional, and symbolic levels. Her work has been awarded numerous prizes including the VIA award in 2008, the Grand Prix de la Création of the City of Paris in 2012 and the First Prize of the Cité Internationale de la Tapestry d'Aubusson. In January 2019, Bina Baitel received Le French Design’s FD100 Award under the patronage of the French President Mr. Emmanuel Macron, recognizing her international influence. Some of her creations are now part of public and private permanent collections, foundations along with National Funds for Contemporary Art. Bina Baitel’s Collection is a selection of exceptional pieces on the edge of art and design. Each object tells a story materialized through a dedicated plastic expression generating new typologies of objects.
