Description

Existential questions have always been at the core of William's creative process. He constantly returns to the same obsessions: death,
the passage of time, the elusive meaning of life.
OMNIA VANITAS, meaning «All is vanity,» is his way of exploring these questions through matter.
It is a reflection on the emptiness that underlies existence and on the impermanence of everything we create or treasure. Through this body
of work, he wanted to shape objects that are both beautiful and unsettling, objects that speak of presence while hinting at inevitable absence.
This candelabra is held up to our own mortality, inviting us to question the role objects play in our lives and the traces we leave behind.
This piece is part of a long tradition of philosophical Memento Mori. It continues an ancient conversation, one that acknowledges
the futility of material wealth and worldly pleasures while celebrating the fragile beauty of existence itself.
OMNIA VANITAS is an accessory, it is a symbol of silences, of echoes, of what remains after the noise has faded.

designed by

William Guillon

William Guillon is a French designer and art director based in Bordeaux. His work explores the tension between decay and elegance, permanence and fragility, resulting in collectible pieces that feel both ancient and radically contemporary. Rooted in a neo-romantic and tragic aesthetic, his creations echo a fascination for imperfect beauty, emotional depth, and the haunting grace of the unfinished. Each object is conceived as a functional sculpture, a fragment of a larger mythology, inhabited by contradictions, marked by time, yet fiercely singular. Since founding his studio in 2014, William Guillon has developed a distinct body of work, acclaimed for its sculptural lighting and accessories. His preferred material is cast bronze (including rare alloys such as white bronze) which he transforms into visceral forms through a deeply artisanal process. Every piece is sculpted by hand in his studio in Bordeaux, France, signed and numbered.
