HANDMADE IN FRANCE
Presented at this year’s Salon Art + Design in New York, the Danae Cocktail Table by Valerie Serin Lok for Maison Pouenat embodies a dialogue between exceptional crafts.
Its hexagonal, hand sculpted glass top captures the symbolism of golden rain, with radiating lines that evoke energy and light. The tinted silvered leaf emerald-green surface contrasts beautifully with touches of gold, while the gradient hand patinated brass base anchors the piece in balance and grace.
After studying interior architecture and design at the "Atelier Met de Penninghen" in Paris and spending nearly ten years alongside Jacques Garcia, Valérie Serin Lok established her agency in Paris before relocating to Geneva. Her attraction to custom work and passion for craftsmanship naturally led her towards the creation of objects and furniture. The essence of her creativity lies in the desire to craft timeless pieces through the use of noble materials. For Maison Pouenat, the utilization of metal as a filter for light, from which emanates a strong and delicate spirit, becomes both structured and poetic, reflecting her architectural and artistic approach.
